This blog is host to a series of entries that have gathered information on the changes in our climate and the misconceptions surrounding the issue. In one post, the authors identified the events of Summer 2018 and why we should be focusing on the amount of change in temperature we are seeing in our oceans. The posts following it in the next few days are similar in nature, but these are including the blame of these changes in climate on humans. The depiction of a trail of fingerprints leaving a chimney is a clear indicator of the call for us as the rest of the world to be more aware of our affect on the planet and begin the process of change.
In these posts, the author engages in several strategies to get more readers.
The the majority of the entries are showing a sense of urgency. This urgency is tied to the fact that we are causing the planet to die, and we need to start turning it around fast, if not, we'll all be dead. But while posting blog entries that discuss the amount of years they project we have left on Earth, this would scare and attract readers due to it's severity and urgency that would be catching.
In this blog, the author also takes tweets from people who disagree with them and attempt to prove their points wrong, all while pointing out why they continue to tweet these types of things. This strategy is to paint the opposing side as un-credible. This is intended to drive the readers away from that person/groups content. The less people see of the opposing side, the likelier they'll believe this side.
These strategies are specifically carried out to appeal to the individuals who wish to find this information. By this, I mean that a biased person would not find themselves on this blog, so the entries will be accepted and positively commented on because those that are reading it have already made up their minds on the issue. I believe the strategies that the author engages in are effective as well as motivational.
