I do not keep a diary. I have such a hard time writing down things that cross my mind. In a way I feel like many people now keep diaries without knowing it. Everything on our phones, the pictures we take everyday, the things posted, the videos we take, seem like the new form of a diary. granted, now diaries are much better with grammar. Writing online and in journals should have somewhat of a priority in grammar. I do not think it's terrible if a person misspells a word or phrases something wrong. Of course online this should have a major improvement as a result from auto correct.
Clearly, I hate writing about my self online. However, this does not mean I do not appreciate all of the people in the world that have. It does make me think what life would be like without diaries. Many important people kept diaries. We should share our personal life with others. If people back then didn't, then people now would never learn. People should share as much as they want to. What ever someone feels like blurting out, should be shared for everyone to read.
I love to read other people's journals. Journals that belong to others, always make me wonder who this person is, what message are they sending. There are so many things that happen everyday but we are so wrapped up in our social media, family, significant others, that we don't think about others. It's not bad to be wrapped up in any of those, but they make our life, our life.
I feel like everyone writes for a purpose. Whether it's due to boredom or loving the act of writing. everyone writes for some reason even if its good and even if it's bad. Writing can be a form of help. Some times people can write diaries about something wrong they did and it helps them remember to correct it.
Very well written post, I related to so much that you mentioned. One of the points that stood out to me the most is when you mentioned loving reading other peoples journals but also not enjoying writing about yourself online. I am the exact same way, but I think I want to look to be more open to a certain extent. I also like how you mention everyday posting being a form of a online diary, when we post pictures or send out a tweet, those are all moments of your life you share with the world online.
