Abortion is a touchy subject for any person to talk about. However, I want to know why churches are so against abortions and why this is such a touchy subject for any Christian person. If a person looks at an abortion the same as a church does, maybe they will understand why Christian churches are against abortion. Does the bible exactly tell someone what is an abortion?
From my readings, the bible does not say the word abortion at all. It hints at abortion but doesn't directly say abortion is bad. The source I used gave many different passages from the bible to explain their reasoning. The first passage was Jeremiah 1:5 saying that "God know everyone before we are formed in the womb" The second intriguing passage was Exodus 21:22-25. This passage states that the death of a baby is the same as murder. This is saying that Christians believe the moment conceived, a fetus is a human.
I found both of these very intriguing passages for someone who is not an average church goer or for someone who does not read the bible. I really do think there is a bigger issue than just abortion in today's world. People need to hear other people's side of their argument before they judge someone else. For someone who does go to church, they can explain their anti-abortion reasoning by something very important to them-the bible. I think everyone needs to listen to other people's perspectives about different topics. Even though a person may not agree with another person, they can still listen and hear them out. The main objective of this topic is that everyone is human and even something as touchy as this topic, we can find room in our hearts to listen to others to make the world a better place.
