Abortion is a touchy subject for any person to talk about. However, I want to know why churches are so against abortions and why this is such a touchy subject for any Christian person. If a person looks at an abortion the same as a church does, maybe they will understand why Christian churches are against abortion. Does the bible exactly tell someone what is an abortion?
From my readings, the bible does not say the word abortion at all. It hints at abortion but doesn't directly say abortion is bad. The source I used gave many different passages from the bible to explain their reasoning. The first passage was Jeremiah 1:5 saying that "God know everyone before we are formed in the womb" The second intriguing passage was Exodus 21:22-25. This passage states that the death of a baby is the same as murder. This is saying that Christians believe the moment conceived, a fetus is a human.
I found both of these very intriguing passages for someone who is not an average church goer or for someone who does not read the bible. I really do think there is a bigger issue than just abortion in today's world. People need to hear other people's side of their argument before they judge someone else. For someone who does go to church, they can explain their anti-abortion reasoning by something very important to them-the bible. I think everyone needs to listen to other people's perspectives about different topics. Even though a person may not agree with another person, they can still listen and hear them out. The main objective of this topic is that everyone is human and even something as touchy as this topic, we can find room in our hearts to listen to others to make the world a better place.

Persuasion
https://brendon.com/blog/take-action-in-your-life/
In this blog post by Brendon Buchard he talks about what its like to be stuck in a funk. He uses a lot of the six universal principles of persuasion in this post. He talks about how there are three things we must do to take action and start moving towards accomplishing our goals again. One thing he does is talk about how YOU are similar to so many others that are going through the same things as you and what they are doing to accomplish their goals and what YOU ALL could be doing to continue moving forward. He ethos in the way that he makes himself seem relatable to the reader who may or not be going through what he refers to as "analysis paralysis." And he uses pathos when he tells the reader that they really do have so much going on in their head, and when he gives the example of how good it feels to finally get to help somebody. I think this blog appeals to people who need a detailed step by step guide of how to start accomplishing their goals, probably catering more to people who are not so adventurous and out there. He gives a detailed guide about why people are experiencing certain issues, and what they can do to fix them.

Week 11: The true effects of a racist nation
While looking for a piece of writing that gathered information and proposed a call for change, I stumbled across a truly fascinating study and blog. Racial issues are still to this day one of the largest and most discussed issues facing our nation. However, it's rare we actually discuss the effects racism has on our citizens individually. We often see and discuss the effects racism plays on our justice system and the lack of privilege received by minorities but we never discuss the effects it has on the minds and wellbeing of minorities. The study my blog focused on studied the chemicals and brain actions across minorities and figured out the effect feeling and experiencing racism has on the brain. In many cases, the study found first handedly experiencing racism directed towards one had a direct correlation to depression, suicide, mental illness, as well as even imbalances on the brains chemical levels such as reduced serotonin and imbalanced dopamine. As someone who lives in this era of racial tension and conflict, I think this piece of writing does a great job of sending a message. We are mentally and physically hurting our brothers and sisters within our country, this has a scientific effect on the brain. Too often those with racist beliefs either just fail to see the damage their actions cause, or they do not care and both scenarios are very heartbreaking. Care about your neighbors. Week 11 The Daily Kos
The Daily Kos is a blog created by Markos Moulitsas. It serves multiple purposes. Firstly, it posts many news articles and stories about world and American issues like climate change, health care, immigration, and gun violence among others. Secondly, it has a section where the community can come together to discuss and spotlight these issues. Lastly, it has a section for people to take action. One of the reasons I picked this blog to share was that it prompted me to sign a petition the moment I reached the home page. They are currently accepting signatures for 20 different petition campaigns. The Daily Kos is not only calling its readers to take action, it is giving them a way to take action within the very same website

Tiny Buddha: Motivation When Feeling Drained
Tiny Buddha Site: https://tinybuddha.com/blog/5-things-to-stop-doing-when-youre-struggling-and-feeling-drained/
The blog post that I read, titled '5 Things to Stop Doing When You're Struggling and Feeling Drained,' has a lot of great information and motivational tips. The first thing it says is to "stop comparing your struggle to anyone else's." This is basically saying that everyone is allowed to have bad days and have problems. There is always going to be somebody out there who has bigger problems than you do, but that doesn't mean you have to feel guilty about the things that are problems in your life. You are entitled to having a bad day every once in a while. The next suggestion the blog gives is to "stop focusing on things that aren't priorities." It is really important to sit back and figure out what our real priorities are. There are only so many hours in the day, so we have to be choosy with what things we are going to focus our time and energy on. The third piece of advice is to "stop expecting yourself to do what you could do before." As we get older, chances are that we will change physically and emotionally. We might not be able to do certain things that we could when we were younger, but we shouldn't make this a bad thing. We have to learn to accept some things in life, and this is one of them. Next, Lori Deschene, the author of Tiny Buddha, says to "stop pushing yourself when you need to take it easy." Self-care is very important, and people need to stop pushing themselves so hard. Sleep, exercise, a good diet, and relaxation are just as important as getting done with our work. Putting a bunch of pressure on ourselves will never have a positive outcome. Lastly, Lori says to "stop reminding yourself of how you're "falling behind"." We shouldn't have such a negative mindset; we should be nicer to ourselves and be more positive overall. Lori says, "While we may want growth and change, we don't need it in order to be worthy or happy," which I found very interesting. This is such a good point, and I think it is something everyone needs to be reminded of.
This blog appeals to anybody in any level of school, anyone working at any type of job, and anyone who is working towards some type of goal in general. Lori's five pieces of advice can apply to anybody of any age because they are things that can make life a little easier. I think people are very quick to feel stressed and are very hard on themselves, so I think this blog post can help just about anyone. Even if you're not in school, these are good things to remember. These are things that can make people feel happier and more peaceful in their day-to-day lives.

Healthy space brings Good Grace
Its very rare to find blogs that can bring awareness, motivation, and support when it comes to mental health. Healthy space is a blog I stumbled upon when I suffer through my own struggles and trials when it comes to my own mental health. At HealthyPlace.com, you'll find comprehensive, authoritative information on psychological disorders, psychiatric medications, and other mental health treatments. They also have online psychological tests, mental health news, and way more to offer. This blog can appeal to the entire world, especially those like me who are young and in college.
Many people my age suffer from mental health issues, whether it be depression, anxiety or any other mental health struggle one may have. There motto is that the most important thing in a person's life is "peace of mind".
Healthy place shares several links to several resources. They also share mental health information from experts, as well as everyday people who are dealing with psychological disorders. They also provide information and support to people with mental health concerns, along with their family members and other loved ones. Healthy space has several blogs with several topics relating to mental health, for instance: a blog about self harm, https://www.healthyplace.com/blogs/speakingoutaboutselfinjury/2019/3/what-do-those-who-self-harm-have-in-common. Healthy space is a great source to turn to, for anyone battling with their mental health. This site is amazing for those in search of support, assistance and information on how to cope with mental health as well as those who are seeking to help someone else cope with it.

Week 11: RealClimate
This blog is host to a series of entries that have gathered information on the changes in our climate and the misconceptions surrounding the issue. In one post, the authors identified the events of Summer 2018 and why we should be focusing on the amount of change in temperature we are seeing in our oceans. The posts following it in the next few days are similar in nature, but these are including the blame of these changes in climate on humans. The depiction of a trail of fingerprints leaving a chimney is a clear indicator of the call for us as the rest of the world to be more aware of our affect on the planet and begin the process of change.

In these posts, the author engages in several strategies to get more readers.
The the majority of the entries are showing a sense of urgency. This urgency is tied to the fact that we are causing the planet to die, and we need to start turning it around fast, if not, we'll all be dead. But while posting blog entries that discuss the amount of years they project we have left on Earth, this would scare and attract readers due to it's severity and urgency that would be catching.
In this blog, the author also takes tweets from people who disagree with them and attempt to prove their points wrong, all while pointing out why they continue to tweet these types of things. This strategy is to paint the opposing side as un-credible. This is intended to drive the readers away from that person/groups content. The less people see of the opposing side, the likelier they'll believe this side.
These strategies are specifically carried out to appeal to the individuals who wish to find this information. By this, I mean that a biased person would not find themselves on this blog, so the entries will be accepted and positively commented on because those that are reading it have already made up their minds on the issue. I believe the strategies that the author engages in are effective as well as motivational.
